Obituary for Sophie T. Bruening

(nee Strelka) Our beloved mother was reunited in Heaven with her husband Richard on Friday, October 7, 2016 at the age of 85. Dear mother of Susan (the late Russell) Kuehl, Wayne (Nancy) and "her favorite" Daniel (Monica) Bruening. Loving grandmother of Aimee (Keith) Knuppel, April (Nick) Marking and Amber (Ben) McCarty, Richard (Kelly) and Darin (Katie) Bruening, and Erika, Tamara and Alissa Bruening. Great-grandmother of Sawyer, Chloe, Kaitlyn, Elena, Olivia, Hudson, Marshall, and "GiGi" to Jayden. Dear sister of Frances Grzechowiak. Also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Sophie worked at Miller Brewing Company for 40 years and was a member of Brewery Workers Local Union # 9.

Visitation Thursday, October 13, from 10 am to 12 noon at St. Kilian Catholic Church, 428 Forest St., Hartford, followed by a Funeral Mass at 12 noon. Burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family would be appreciated.
