Obituary for Delbert J. Clavette

Delbert Clavette, age 100, of Richfield, Wisconsin, passed away December 21, 2017.

Del was born in Laona, Wisconsin on March 21, 1917 to James and Alma(nee Klein) Clavette of Soperton, Wi. He attended Wabeno High School and graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Madison in 1939.
He served in the 32nd Division of the army during World War II in the Pacific, where he once met General Douglas McArthur.

In 1947 he married Jean Marie Gentz of Laona, Wisconsin. They lived at Bark Lake, Hubertus, Wisconsin, where they raised 8 children. Del worked as a travelling auditor for PPG Industries to support his family, where some of his favorite destinations included New Orleans, Death Valley and Butte, Montana. After his retirement, he was active in The Richfield Lions Club, serving as their secretary from 1983 - 2001.
Del was preceded in death by his wife Jean and eldest son Daniel (Yolanda, Karen, and Jean).
He is survived by his children Michael (Julie), Paul (Kathy), Thad (Val), Jill Werderman, Patrick (Diane Henrich), James (Barbara) and John (Sharon).

Grand-Children; Jean (Drew) Graves, Sam (Jaima), Ben (Angela), Jennifer (Gerry) Gonzales, Adam (Keri), Amy, Laura (Tony) Giberman, Timothy (Emily), Bonita, Betsy (Justin) Verville, Brenda, Elizabeth (Jim) Lavelle, Cora (Patrick) Bartz, Andrew, Alex (Mariah), Joshua (Sarah), Marrissa, Jacob, Emilie, Jessica, and Rebecca.
Great-Grand-Kids: Baker, Nolan, Edith, Avalynn, Luis, Savanna, Cruz, Troy, Sara, Owen, Anna, Sylvia, Marcus, Julien, Katie, Dylan, Willow, Joseph, Linus, Eleanor.

Other friends, relatives and in-laws including Jane Kirsch, Karl and Loretta Gentz, Phil and Irene Gentz, Bea Gentz, Mary Strand and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2018 from 11 AM until 1 PM, followed by a memorial service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Richfield Lions Club, 1757 Kettering Ridge, Richfield, WI 53076 in Del’s name would be appreciated.
