My Favorite Uncle Vince

He was my favorite Uncle.  My mom (Joan Gundrum Gallmann) told me a story about how he took my mom and dad (Gene Gallmann) for a summer dirve.  Vince drove that car tearing up farmers fields, bouncing over pot holes, doing doughnuts, burners, slamming on the breaks,  kicking up all kinds of dust in jalopy.  She laughed and smiled when she told me this story.  We flew all over the back seat of that car. We didn't have seat belts back then.

I like the story he told me about driving all the way to Alaska and back having to replace tires and windshields.  He shared that he had one regret on that trip, I should have drove up to Point Barrow, that's as far as you can drive by car in the USA.  He was a pious man, walking from his home in Menomonee Falls, WI to Holy Hill.  This 16+ mile pilgrimage he would do several times a year till he could no longer walk.I admire him to this day ~ Dale W, Gallmann
