Obituary for Anne Francis English (LaPointe)

Anne Francis (LaPointe) English, 85, of Mequon, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2018, surrounded by her loving family.

Anne was born in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada. She received her nursing degree from St. Joseph School of Nursing. Her studies continued with post graduate work at Seton Hall University in New Jersey and Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in New York, focusing on Operating Room nursing. Later in her career, Anne owned and operated one of the first Molly Maid franchises. After selling the business, she pursued other interests in the arts. She was chairperson of the Milwaukee Symphony Show House, was coordinator for the Milwaukee Festival Of Lights and was active in raising funds for Children's Hospital of Wisconsin. Other interests included world travel, nature, sports cars, the Milwaukee Brewers, a good game of Upwords, and anything that contained chocolate.

She is survived by her four children: Paul (Kelly) English, Kathy (Nathan) Nissen, Michelle English, and Kelly (Michael) Montilino.

Further survived by four grandchildren, Andrea, Anne, Danielle and Nolan; two sisters, Irene (Terrance) Wolff, and Jacqueline (the late Earl) Bruner. Preceded in death by her husband, Gus English, and two brothers, Bill and Joe LaPointe.

Anne was a very devoted Catholic, a loving mother and grandmother, and was treasured by all. She was a unique and special individual, with a wonderful sense of humor and left an impression on everyone she met. Anne was larger than life, a fearless and extremely generous person. She will be greatly missed. The visitation will be at 11:00 AM, March 15, St. Joseph Catholic Church, Grafton, Wisconsin, followed by mass at 1:00 PM and interment at St. Augustine Cemetery, Newburg, Wisconsin.
