We met Julie before we even moved into our house next door to her. We were shoveling snow on a cold February day, She was thrilled that two guys were going to be her new neighbors. Since then, thirteen years ago, we became the best of friends.

Over the years, our neighbor relationship put a different spin on the old saying “ good fences make good neighbors”, since our backyard fence became the “conversation place” as we enjoyed rousing discussions on everything from home, family, yard work, the neighborhood, cherished memories, to our favorite.....politics!

We will sincerely miss her smile, quick wit, passion for family, homemade cookies, her annual chunk of the worlds best carrot cake in November, soulful pauses in the middle of a good story, and a good laugh about all the things we cannot change.

Julie, you will always occupy a special place in our hearts.

We were spoiled to have such a wonderfully sweet woman as our first neighbor. She was a thoughtful and kind person who dearly loved her family. She was so proud of her kids and grandchildren. Our prayers go out to her family. Jen and Nick Ortner
