Longtime Mequon resident Le Nae N. Lederer passed away on Monday January 5, 2015 at the Lawlis Family Hospice in Mequon, WI. She was born in Milwaukee, WI on February 7, 1936, the daughter of Raymond and Pauline (Stahnke) Kurtz. After graduating from Cedarburg High School in 1954, she married Harvey J. Lederer on August 4, 1956. Le Nae led a very full and active life. When not working, she volunteered at her church and with the 4-H. She worked in the design department at Steins Gardens & Gifts and at the Lasting Traditions Gift Shop in Columbia St. Mary’s-Ozaukee Hospital. At St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church she was a member of the Ladies Aide, Board of Finances & Altar Guild, taught Sunday School and was the Art Teacher at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran School for over 25 years. Her lifelong association with the 4-H began in her youth as a member of the Mezaukee 4-H Club, later becoming the General Leader of the Lakefield 4-H Club and Project Leader for both the Covered Bridge and Lindenwood 4-H Clubs. In addition to being a member of the Roaring 20’s Homemakers Club, she enjoyed gardening, crafting and baking. Above all else Le Nae loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her children; Carrie Lauters, Dean (Mary) Lederer, Peter (Shela) Lederer, and Jody (Roman) Brzezinski, grandchildren; Jack (Rebecca) Lauters, Kady Lauters, Dan (Megan) Lederer, Laura Lederer, Emily La Sage and Brent Lederer, great-grandchildren; Allison Le Nae Lederer and Lucas Lauters, along with countless relatives and close friends. Preceded in death by her husband Harvey J. Lederer, her parents, and siblings; Audrey Wheeler, Glenn (Armida) Kurtz, James (Cecilia) Kurtz, Joanne (Ken) Dann and JoAnne Bartlein. A visitation will be held on Thursday January 8, 2015 from 4-7:00 PM at the Schramka-Densow Funeral Home, 423 N. Main St., Thiensville, WI 53092, followed by a Devotion Service at 7:00 PM. Funeral Service 1:00 PM on Friday January 9, 2015 at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church, 1616 W. Mequon Rd, Mequon, WI 53092. The family will greet relatives and friends on Friday at the church from 12:00 PM until time of service. Interment church cemetery. Memorials to the church, Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School or the Ozaukee County 4-H Foundation, appreciated.
