Michael Wm.  Lutz
Attorney Michael Wm. Lutz, of Milwaukee, WI passed away suddenly on July 26, 2015, age 44. Loving father of Abigail and Isabelle Lutz. Devoted son of William “Senior” and the late Patricia (nee Matyas) Lutz. Dear brother of Robert (Cara) Lutz, Anne (Ron) Bullock, William (Jamie) Lutz, John (Nicole) Lutz, Jacqueline (John) Nelson, and Mary (Todd) Smolen, all surrounding the Milwaukee area. Cherished Uncle of Bryant, Brittany, Brett, and Brendon Bullock, Billy Lutz, Bobby, Brooke, and Logan Lutz, Jamie and Elizabeth Smolen, and Jordan, Lillian, and Jonathan “Jack” Lutz. Also survived by other relatives and friends.

As a young adult Michael got his pilot’s license and loved to fly. Michael Lutz was a 1988 graduate of Thomas More High School and a graduate from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Wisconsin-Madison Law School. Michael was a highly decorated and respected Police Officer with the Milwaukee Police Department where he started as a Police Aide at the age of 19 in 1989. He later retired from the Police Department after being shot in-the-line of duty in 2005, for which he received a Purple Heart. After his retirement, Michael attended law school at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, earning his law degree. Once he earned his law degree he worked for the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s office as a special prosecutor, and as an adjunct instructor for Concordia University, and Bryant and Stratton College. Most recently, Michael started his private practice as a criminal defense attorney at Canfield & Lutz, LLC. Michael’s greatest accomplishment was his two beautiful, loving girls. Abigail, 15, will be a sophomore at Divine Savior Holy Angels High School and Isabelle, 13, will be in the 8th grade at St. Matthias Parish School.

Visitation Friday, July 31, from 3:00 to 7:45 pm at St. Matthias Catholic Church, 9306 W. Beloit Rd., with a Prayer Vigil at 8:00 pm. Visitation on Saturday, August 1, from 9:00 to 10:00 am at St. Matthias Church with a Funeral Mass at 10:30 am. Burial to follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
