Obituary for Reginald C Brooks

Reginald C Brooks
Reginald C. “Reggie” Brooks
Surrounded by family, Reggie went home peacefully on Sunday, October 26 2014 at the age of 83. Reggie was the beloved husband to Margaret “Maggie” for more than 60 years and the adoring father to Bruce, Ellen, Trey (Donna) and Keith (Karen). Reggie was preceded in death by son Todd and is further survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brothers-in-law, many very special nieces and nephews and countless friends. Memorial Service 12:00 noon on Thursday October 30, 2014 at the funeral Home. The family will greet relatives and friends on Thursday from 10:00 AM until the time of service and at a reception afterward to share stories and pizza. Reggie taught physical education/wellness/nutrition at Milwaukee Area Technical College for more than 38 years. During that time, he coached their basketball and golf teams before shifting his attention to coaching basketball and softball at St. Mary’s Grade School in Menomonee Falls. Family was most important to Reggie, and he shared with them not only a passion for life, but an enthusiasm for playing games – from cards and board games to sports and crossword or jigsaw puzzles. He kept pets throughout his life, including rabbits, cats, dogs, guinea pigs, fish, birds and even a monkey and an alligator. Reggie had a penchant for cold beer, dancing to pop music and could often be heard singing or listening to classic country western, show tunes or opera. During his retirement, Reggie could be found bicycling around town to visit rummage sales in search of silly wigs, ties or looney tunes attire (which were proudly worn while dancing at parties). His legacy will certainly include his homemade pizza, which has probably been enjoyed by thousands of family, friends and others. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org.
