My story

I attended Kindergarten and 1st grade in Menomonee, Michigan.  In 1959 my family moved to Thiensville, Wisconsin, where I attended Grand Avenue School, Wilson School, Steffen School, and graduated from Homestead High School.  I met Randall Ray my senior year of High School.  I saw Randy in our homeroom the first day of our senior year.  I said to my then boyfriend that we have a cute new boy in our class.  We broke up that week.  I kept noticing Randy throughout the week and felt sorry for him being the new guy in our senior class because nobody would talk to him.  I invited him over to my house for a party I was having.  He did come to that party but left with another girl.  We saw each other at school and then worked on our Homecoming float together.  That's when he indicated that he wanted to have a date.  We dated and I invited him to my birthday dinner with the family.  He gave me a cameo necklace which he named "Woman".  We went to my Christmas party at Walgreen's and that evening he asked permission to kiss me.  He proposed to me at the A & W in Thiensville and gave me my engagement ring in the car, on Hwy. 110, on our way to Oconto, Wisconsin, for a graduation party at my grandparents cottage in May, 1972.  He left with his parents in June, 1972, to work in Elgin, Illinois, where his father was managing a Pontiac Dealership.  The family lived in Arlington Heights, Illinois.  I started school that summer at Prospect Hall Secretarial College.  Randy moved back to the dorms at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in September, 1972.  I started to work at Mutual of New York in October of 1972.  We married on June 23, 1973, at Crossroads Presbyterian Church by Reverend Doedens. Randy worked at many car dealerships until 1981, when we moved to Cape Coral, Florida, and Randy worked at his father's construction rental store.   Had two daughters while we lived in Wisconsin, and one son while we lived in Florida.  Moved back to Wisconsin in 1984 and concentrated on raising my family.  Volunteered a lot at the kids schools and P.T.S.A.  I was the secretary for Steffen and Homestead High School's P.T.S.A. for six years.  Was a Girl Scout and Cub Scout Leader for seven years.  Also was the Girl Scout District Registrar for three years.  Lived in many places after marriage:  Milwaukee, Wisc., Cedarburg, Wisc., Wauwatosa, Wisc., Elgin, Ill., Germantown, Wisc., Fox River Grove, Ill., Cape Coral, Fl., Mequon, Wisc., and then Thiensville, Wisc.  Motherhood was priority in life.  Sold Avon products from 1992 to 2002 and worked for an Independent Insurance Representative, John R. Wiese, CLU, ChFC at Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance.  Love to read romance novels and West Highland White Terriers.  Like to decorate, type, crafts, and collections; such as, Tom Clark Elves, Red and White enamelware, 1940-1950 house wares.
