Message: Thank you Dad for making this world a better place; you were always there for others often putting their needs before yours which taught me kindness. You served your country with honor & fought for your beliefs instilling in me a strong sense of pride. I will always remember the twinkle in your eyes which gave me a sense of humor. Your concern for elders & removing your hat in public buildings showed me the value of respect. Waking to the sound of you shoveling the sidewalk before you went to work in the early morning imparted dedication; I’d watch you from my upstairs bedroom window & always wondered if your gloveless hands were cold. I recall my first job at St Luke’s Hospital & leaving for the day when at times I saw you with a smile on your face waiting in the car so I did not have to take the bus home. As I look back I realized the sacrifice you made & I don’t think I always said thank you which taught me unconditional love for a child. But most of all Dad, it was not only your commitment to God; it was watching you live your faithfulness which embedded a deep faith in my heart. Until we meet again Dad, you live in my heart.
