Shared moments

My dear brother-

I will miss you very much.  I wish we had spent more time together, but I am thankful for the times we had.  I will always cherish our talks – sometimes they were about family or life or our faith.  I remember when our Papa John died; I had just come back to mom’s house from the funeral parlor with his Bible.   I had not even gotten my coat off when we started talking about your faith; we must have talked for an hour.  You told me that you knew believing in Jesus death and resurrection would save you from your sins.  That particular discussion we had is the most prominent in my memory especially since we had a very similar discussion the Tuesday before you went home to be with our Lord.  Knowing you are in heaven consoles me, but missing you is still painful and brings me to tears.  As you said to me that day, “I will see you on the other side.”
