How did it happen that I got older and Ed never really looked that different? I and my brothers remember "Mr. Flaherty" as a fun-loving guy, always ready with a humorous quip that belied his big heart. It's been sad to see that precious circle of friends -- of which Ed was such an important part -- dwindle, and hopeful to know the solid legacy of generations they left behind.
